The Safdarjung observatory, whose reading is considered as the official figure for the city, recorded the maximum temperature of 40.7 degrees Celsius, a notch above the normal while the minimum temperature settled at 29.5 degrees Celsius, also a notch below the season's average, a MeT department official said.
Humidity level oscillated between 65 and 37 per cent.
The MeT predicted partly overcast conditions along with the possibility of light rain for tomorrow.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. Light rain or thunderstorm is likely to occur in the evening and night.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was pegged at 26.9 degrees Celsius.
