Sumariwalla, Uchil elected to Maharashtra athletic body

Olympian Adille Sumariwalla was re-elected as president of the Maharashtra Athletics Association while Satish Uchil has become the new general secretary.
A media release issued by the association stated that the term of the new office-bearers would be upto 2020.
Sumariwalla and Uchil, who are both from Mumbai, were elected unopposed to the Executive Committee, along with all others.
Sumariwalla, an Arjuna Awardee, is also the president of the Athletics Federation of India and a vice president of the International Association of Athletics Federations while Uchil is a member of the technical committee of the AFI.
Advocate Abhay Chajad of Pune was elected as the Chairman.

Others elected to the EC were: Vice Presidents: Narayan Khadke, Balaram D Patil, Shrikant Joshi, Dilip Jaiswal, Gopal Singh Rathod, Sanjay Badole, Ranjit Singh Rana and Dr A Rizvi.

Senior joingt secretary: Dinesh Bhalerao.
Joint secretaries: Sanjay Patil, Rajeev Joshi, Madhavrao Shejuwal, Pralobh Kulkarni, Hemant Pandey, Atul Patil and Lalit Jiwani.
Treasurer: Raju Pyati.
Executive members: Suresh Faarkte, Ashok Aher, Ramesh Gangawane, Vikram Sankhaye, Rajesh Jadhav, Anil Bonde, Sharad Suryavanshi and Sanjay Wategaonkar.
