Senior Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala today lashed out at the BJP government in Haryana, alleging that in the last three-and-a-half years, they have only made false promises to people.
"Every section is fed up with this government. During the last three-and-a-half years, they have only befooled people with false promises," Surjewala said addressing a 'Bangar Adhikaar Rally' in Chhatar village here.
Surjewala, who is a party legislator from Kaithal, said all sections were dissatisfied with the performance of the state government.
He alleged that similar sentiment also prevailed against the central government.
"Time has come to dislodge the anti-people and anti-farmer governments from power," he added.
Referring to the GST, Surjewala said that while defining the tax rates, the government did not contemplate or consider the impact of high GST rates on the common man.
"This government has imposed heavy taxes on farmers in the garb of GST on pesticides, fertilisers, diesel and farm parts," he alleged.
Surjewala said it was the land of Jind, the political heartland of the state, which decided the formation of government and whenever needed, to change it.
"It is the land of Jind, which decides the formation of government and whenever needed, to change it," he said, adding that the BJP will be routed in Haryana when the next polls are held.
Without naming Union Steel Minister Birender Singh, who hails from Jind, Surjewala accused him of neglecting the land of Bangar (Jind).
He said against the available budget of Rs 95,000 crore with the government for roads, nothing had been spent on the Uchana constituency in Jind.
"If the steel minister would have brought at least a steel industry in this area, things would have changed to some extent," he said.
Surjewala accused opposition INLD and the BJP of hobnobbing against the Congress and the people of the state.
"Everyone knows that INLD is 'B' team of the BJP," he alleged.
