Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today said the government has ordered a survey in Agra and Aligharh divisions for giving compensation to drought-hit farmers.
Addressing a public meeting at Nagla Chandrabhan village here as a part of centenary celebrations of Deendayal Upadhyaya, he also said the government would solve the problem of hard water in the two divisions.
He also announced setting up of various facilities including open air theatre, children park, research centre, rain water harvesting system at Nagla Chandrabhan with Rs 5 crore for converting the village, the birthplace of the Jan Sangh ideologue, in to a tourist hub.
He said the problems of potato-growers in the area cannot be solved, unless a food processing unit is established.
He said the state government has planned to provide 9.7 lakh houses to the needy people this year and 8 lakh houses have already been given. He said nobody in the state will be without a house by 2022.
"Taking inspiration from the Prime Minister, we have waived loan of 86 lakh farmers," he claimed.
State ministers Laxmi Narain Chaudhary, Srikant Sharma, Rita Bahuguna, Bhupendra Singh, legislators Puran Prakash, Karinda Singh, and members of Deendayal Smarak Samiti paid their homage to the Jan Sangh ideologue.
