Sushil, who won a silver medal in London Games and also became the highest ranked wrestler on the international circuit, has been named as the OSD (Officer on Special Duty) of the academy, which will be dedicated to training upcoming grapplers with the Indian Railways.
"I couldn't be happier. I am honoured to be presented with such an opportunity. We have so many talented wrestlers but very often due to lack of training and the right guidance our wrestlers aren't able to excel. I hope with this academy we can offer the right training to budding wrestler in the Indian Railways," Sushil said.
Sushil had won a bronze and a silver in two consecutive Olympics in Beijing and London, respectively. Besides this colossal feat, he has also won many prestigious awards including the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in July 2009.
