A bag containing Rs 37.26 lakh, suspected to be hawala money, was found near a railway track here Friday, police said.

A man, who spotted the bag, handed it over to police.

Police said it might have been thrown out of a train.

Income tax officials have been informed about the seizure, the police said.

Police said five people, who claimed that the money was theirs, were being questioned.

Investigations were on by the income tax sleuths and the police, they added.

Hawala is a method of transferring money without any actual movement.
