Utkal Bharat party president and former MP M A Kharabela Swain Thursday alleged that he was attacked by ruling BJD cadres at Aul in Kendrapara district on Wednesday.
Swain met the Director General of Police R P Sharma at the police headquarters here Thursday and demanded action against the BJD workers for allegedly attacking him.
The BJD spokesperson P K Deb termed the allegations of Swain as "baseless and false".
Swain, said when he was addressing a street corner meeting at Annapurna Bazaar in Aul on Wedneday when about 25 to 30 youths claiming to be BJD workers barged onto the podium and "stopped" him from addressing the gathering.
Swain alleged that the youths warned him against speaking against the ruling party.
