The incident occurred at the private school in Jaggampet village of East Godavari district, when the girl, who went to toilet, was followed by accused B Appa Rao (22) who allegedly tried to rape her, Inspector of Jaggampet police station S Murli Mohan said.
He was nabbed by some staffers who noticed him inside the ladies toilet and later handed him over to police, he said.
Rao was booked under IPC Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and later produced before a local court which sent him to 14-day remand, he said, adding that further investigations were on.
