T'gana Guv, CM condole demise of veteran vocalist Balamurali

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, state BJP president K Laxman and several other leaders today condoled the death of veteran classical singer M Balamurali Krishna.
"Balamurali Krishna is a legendary Indian Carnatic vocalist and composer. The country has lost a world-renowned personality and the void will be difficult to fill," Narasimhan said in a condolence message.
Hailing Balamurali Krishna as an inspiration to new generation of musicians, the Governor said following the path laid by him would be a great tribute.
Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna, who enthralled music lovers for more than four decades, passed away in Chennai today.
The 86-year-old veteran, a native of East Godavari district in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, is a revered figure for lovers and students of of Carnatic music.
Scores of devotional songs sung in Telugu by Balamurali Krishna, especially the Kirthanas of Bhadrachala Ramadasu and Tallapaka Annamacharya, immortalised him among classical music lovers in Andhra Pradesh.
It is no exaggeration that scores of people across Andhra Pradesh wake up in the morning listening to the Kirthanas sung by Balamurali Krishna as they are played in temples.
Balamurali Krishna served as the 'Aasthana Vidwamsa' (court singer) of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam of Lord Venkateswara.
Balamurali Krishna, who started singing as a kid, gave concerts in foreign countries like the United States.
He also sang in the company of Hindustani classical musicians like Pandit Bhimsen Joshi and Hari Prasad Chaurasia.
