The forum, in its order issued last week, has asked the tailor to pay compensation while pointing out his deficient service as he did not stitch the trousers according to the desired measurements.
Acting on a petition filed by building material contractor Dharmendra Choukse (32) in 2012, the consumer forum ordered for the payment after hearing both the parties.
The forum ordered the tailor to take back both the loose trousers from the complainant and pay him Rs 3,050, including the price of the cloth, stitching charges, compensation for mental harassment and the litigation expenses.
However, as the tailor stitched loose pants and not as per their measurement, they had to face "embarrassment and mental agony" in front of the relatives during the wedding.
Choukse said he had filed the complaint after the tailor neither altered the pants as per the required measurements nor listened to him.
