Take action to cover pictures of two-leaves on mini buses: DMK

DMK today urged Chief Electoral Officer (CEC) of Tamil Nadu to take action to cover the pictures of two leaves, which resembled the Two Leaves symbol of ruling AIADMK, on small buses plying in the city, in accordance with an order of the ECI.
The ECI, in a recent communication had advised the CEC to suitably cover the pictures on the small buses.
Quoting the ECI communique, DMK Deputy General Secretary V P Duraisami, in a memorandum to CEC alleged that no action till date was taken to implement the direction.
Referring to media reports which said the state Transport Secretary had sought time to comply with the ECI directive citing an "un-admitted writ petition" by the AIADMK, he said there was no interim order by the court.

"There is no interim order by the court preventing you from implementing the direction of ECI," he said.
Requesting the CEC to take immediate action to cover the pictures, failing which, he said "DMK would take action to implement the orders of the Election Commission by itself".
