Complimenting director buddy Moinak Bhowmik for showing the courage to take up a sensitive issue like real life MMS leak in 'Take One', 'Filmfare' awardee Atanu Ghosh says such an issue had never been tackled in Bengali films before.
"The director showed courage to handle such an issue as reference point, as for the first time in Bengali. Those coming from outside India may be taken aback by the furore after the clip went viral on you tube. Since there is less inhibition among the people abroad," Atanu, whose 'Rupkatha Noy' went on bagging four Filmfare honours including 'Best Director' and 'Best Actor', said.
"We all know how women are always scrutinised and their act dissected, for crucification at the alter of morality like the mythological Sita. And as his forte, Moinak has portrayed these scenes and developed the story board with sensitivity. Certain scenes, frames, colors bring the European film making touch," 'Aparajita Tumi' director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury said.
Popular actress Priyanka Sarkar said both as a woman and a person, she felt the issue invaded the concerned individual's own life, not only celebrities.
"I hope not only celebrities, young girls should raise the guard about prying cameras in their personal lives," the Hemlock Society actor, who was catapulted to stardom in Chirodini Tumi Je Amar blockbuster years back, said.
Take One, produced by Friends' Communication, starred Swastika Mukherjee in the lead role of the actress whose life went haywire after the mms leak.
"But 'Take One' is not solely based on that MMS issue. It is largely derived from Swastika's life, her battle, it is her real life story too. It shows the crucification of modern Sita. I had consciously cast her daughter, she had brought up as single mom, as it is the same in real life," Moinak said.
