Tamil Maanila Congress protests Mekedatu project

About 3000 workers of the Tamil Maanila Congress led by G K Vasan today protested in front of the Railway station here against Karnataka's plans to construct check dams across the Cauvery at Mekedatu.
Addressing party activists, Tamil Maanila Congress chief Vasan urged the Centre to intervene in the matter or he would lead his workers to Karnataka to stop the construction.
The party plans to move the Supreme Court on the issue, he added.
