A teacher of a government primary school allegedly beat up a seven-year-old girl student and pulled her hair in Bunga village of Panchkula district in Haryana.
Malkit Singh, the father of the girl, in a complaint to the Panchkula Deputy Commissioner and the District Education Officer, said the Hindi teacher had thrashed his daughter and pulled out her hair, leaving her with a bald patch, after she failed to read a lesson.
Malkit told reporters that his daughter came home crying from school on Friday and she later revealed the incident to him.
Deputy Commissioner Vivek Atray has ordered Tehsildar S S Verma to conduct a probe in the matter.
Appropriate action will be taken against the teacher, if found guilty, the DC said.
