Team to be sent to MRPL to assess pollution level

Karnataka State Pollution Control Board will send a team of scientists to ascertain the levels of pollution around Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), following complaints from the people.
The decision was taken after Minister for Forests and district incharge, B Ramanath Rai, met residents of Jokatte at the Deputy Commissioner's office, an official release said here today.
Rai said a meeting should be convened involving representatives of MRPL and Mangalore Special Economic Zone to discuss the matter.
