A group of boys, all in their teens, were playing near the panchayat office in Alewadi village when a slab of an old dilapidated building fell on them at around 5 pm, they said.
In the mishap, one Rohan Sunil Tamore died and seven others, aged 13 to 15 years, were injured and admitted to Tunga Hospital at Palghar, police said.
The injured were rescued by Fire Brigade and police.
