The Telangana government today took serious note of the nearly three-week-long statewide 20-day-old strike by a section of workers of gram panchayats demanding wage hike, among others.
Out of the 33,534 workers, 19,852 workers have not been reporting for duty, said an official press release here.
The Chief Secretary Shailendra Kumar Joshi has asked all the Collectors and District Magistrates to get the list of absentees who have not reported for the duty by 5 pm tomorrow, the release said.
The special officers of Gram Panchayats are directed to make alternative arrangements from August 23 in the wake of the absenteeism for the past 20 days .
