"...We request DoT to kindly issue a standard specific requirement of relevant information. Further, we request DoT to instruct the TERM cells not to seek the data from the operators which are not relevant for this exercise that are neither part of nor linked with DoT's letter," industry bodies COAI and AUSPI said in a joint letter.
COAI represents GSM telecom operators like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Jio Infocomm, Idea Cellular, Uninor, Aircel and Videocon Telecom while AUSPI members include Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices and Sistema Shyam Teleservices.
The letter cited that term cell have asked public complaints on call drops, complaint records, configurations of pre-paid subscribers and post-subscribers in home circle which the operators feel are not relevant for auditing networks.
The industry requested DoT to come up with "Standardised Audit Procedure" and follow audit process established by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India in this regard.
