In Ahmedabad, maximum temperature remained at 42.5 degree Celsius today, which is almost two degrees less than yesterday's readings.
Similarly, other places in the state also recorded dip in temperature.
Surendrangar remained hottest in the state with 43 degree, while Gandhinagar became third hottest after Ahmedabad and Surendranagar with a maximum temperature of 42.3, which is a fall of almost two degrees.
Heatwave conditions also softened in Deesa (41.2), Vadodara (40.6), Rajkot (41.3) and Bhuj (40.0).
"We are keeping a close watch on monsoon activity. Though rains hit Gujarat by June 10 every year, it seems that it may get delayed this time," Sarkar said.
