The car festival, which is part of the ten-day "Aipassi Pooram Festival", of Goddess Sivakami Sundari, a sub-temple of the Nataraja shrine, was held today with hundreds of people taking part and pulling the car through the four "Ratha Streets" of this town.
The separate Aipassi festival, exclusively for the Goddess is held in select places including Chidambaram, Veeravanallur, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and Tuticorin.
The Idol of the Goddess was taken around the temple on all the festival days since November 7.
After the car festival, Laksha Archanai was held at Deva Sabhai(Court).
The celestial wedding of Sivanandha Nayaki with Somaskhandar will be held on November 17, temple officials said.
