Besides arranging a palm leaf umbrella to beat the heat during his visit to Sri Jagannath Temple here, the temple administration has decided to present the Lord's golden attire's (Suna Bhesa)pattachitra painting to visiting President Pranab Mukherjee.
"Pattachitra is a traditional painting of Odisha's rich art and we will present a memento of Lord Jagannath's Suna Besha (golden attire) in Pattachitra form to the President," said Aravind Padhee, the chief administrator of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
This apart, the President will be offered a ceremonial cloth and dry 'bhog' (prasad) of the deities, a temple administration official said.
Though Mukherjee had visited the 12th century shrine several times in the past, this was for the first time that he would have 'darshan' of the Lord as President.
Gajapati Maharaj of Puri Dibyasingha Deb, who is considered the first "sevayat" (priest) of the Lord, would greet the President at the Lion's Gate on his arrival at Puri in a chopper. Chanting of slokas from Vedas would be part of the President's welcome at the temple, they said.
Besides having darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra inside the temple, the President would also visit Maa Laxmi Temple and Maa Bimala Temple in the temple premises.
The President would be served with vegetarian food after his visit to the temple as per his desire, said Padhee adding: "we will also keep 'Maha Prasad' (food offered to the God) ready for the President.
"No members of the public will be allowed to enter the temple when the President is inside tomorrow," said Puri SP Anup Sahu adding security arrangements have been made according to the provision of the Blue Book.
The coast guard personel would also undertake patrolling in the Bay of bengal when the President is present in Puri, sorces said.
