Temporary suspension of work notice in jute mill

The work at Delta Jute Mill at Sankrail in Howrah district was suspended today citing lack of raw material supply and low production.
Around 4000 employees - both casual and permanent - were affected as a result.
The workers found the temporary suspension of work notice put up on the main gate of the jute mill this morning when they reported for duty.
There was no incident of any untoward incident, officials said.
A large contingent of policemen was posted near the jute mill premises since the morning.
