Sinha, who is Director, personnel and administration, was given the additional charge as CMD of the PSU in January till March 31.
"It has been informed by the Ministry of Shipping that extension of the additional charge assignment of the post CMD, SCI to Capt B B Sinha, Director (P&A), for another period of 3 months beyond March 31, 2016, is under consideration," SCI said in a BSE filing.
The post of the CMD fell vacant after A K Gupta retired on December 31.
