Cardamom prices fell by 0.45 per cent to Rs 824 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced their exposure amid muted demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month July declined by Rs 3.70, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 824 per kg in business turnover of 38 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June contracts traded lower by Rs 3.40, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 807.30 per kg in 21 lots.
Marketmen said trimming of positions by participants amid subdued demand in the spot market against ample stocks position on higher supplies from growing belts mainly led to fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
