"Thank you bhaiyya," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, acknowledging a group of journalists who congratulated him for the demonetisation decision of his government.
As soon as the Prime Minister arrived at the Parliament Library Building here to attend a meeting of BJP ahead of the winter session of Parliament beginning Wednesday, some reporters congratulated him for withdrawal of 500 and 1,000 rupee notes with the aim of tackling corruption, black money, counterfeit notes and terror financing.
He acknowledged it by saying "thank you bhaiyya" with a smile.
The Prime Minister was in Uttar Pradesh earlier in the day.
