The no-holds barred art exhibition

Neither are the artworks limited to a single theme nor are the artists from a particular age bracket at 'Parampara' the ongoing art exhibition at the All India Fine Art and Craft Society here.
Hosted by Rangan Art school here, the show aims "to ignite the flame of creativity in a child or a child within everyone." Artwork of 34 participants have been showcased at the show.
"This is not a theme based exhibition. We promote the temperament of students in our school. What you see in this exhibition is the sheer imagination of our students," says Tapan Dass, architect and founder of the Rangan Art School.

With 136 paintings, four by every participant, each work although different from the other manages to complement the essence of the show.
Where the young Asmit Datta's 'Cowboy' (Water colour on paper) looks pleasing to the eye; the much mature Malina Bera's 'Flute Player' (arcyclic on canvas) gives the word aesthetic a new make-over.
"Here you'll experience a fine gelling in works of people from different ages. By looking at most of the paintings, you can tell whether the artist is a beginner or an expert, but few art pieces in the exhibition belie their creator's age," says Dass.

Having students ranging from 10-40 years of age, Tapan agreed that there is a different level of guidance required to get the best out of them.

"To each his own, is what we follow in our teaching. All paintings you see here is students own work in true sense. We, in our part, tried to find their strengths and helped them work on it. Obviously, the young ones demand more effort," he added.
The six-day exhibition ends on January 19. Rangan Art School offers both short term and long term courses for students willing to learn art.
