Tim Roth and Clive Owen-starrer "The Song of Names" has been announced as the closing movie of the 2019 San Sebastian International Film Festival.

Directed by French-Canadian filmmaker Francois Girard and also starring Catherine McCormack, the film will bring the curtains down on the Official Selection category of the festival, the organisers said in a statement.

It is based on a novel by award-winning British novelist and cultural commentator Norman Lebrecht. Jeffrey Caine has adapted the book for the big screen.

Set at the outbreak of World War II, the story follows two Polish-Jewish refugees in London -- the nine-year-old Martin and his brother Dovidl, who is a gifted violin prodigy.

But hours before his debut performance Dovidl goes missing, causing shame and ruin for their family.

Roth and Owen portray the adult versions of Martin and Dovidl, respectively.

"The Song of Names" is a joint production of Canada, the UK and Hungary.

The 67th edition of the festival, held in the Spanish city of Donostia-San Sebastian, will run from September 20 to 28.
