Launching a book on Thengadi here, Bhagwat said to describe a person with such a mind and wisdom was not possible with just words.
Stating that the BMS founder was an all-round talented personality, the Sangh chief said he created the vision for reconstruction of labour sector based on Indian ideology, which was studied by people from Italy and China.
"Be it a farmer, labourer, student or artists, in all the sectors, to sublimate and to take it forward...What should be the role, the direction, what should be the target, what process should be taken, all this was done by him. He was such a great personality," he said.
Referring to Dattopant's meeting with M S Golwalkar before becoming a Rajya Sabha member, Bhagwat said that the latter asked him if he cared and loved the labour class of India like a mother who cared and loved her child. "What we saw of him (Thengadi) was like this only," the RSS chief said.
"...He was always thinking about those who are victimised and downtrodden in the society. And to remove their tension, whatever was necessary, he (Thengadi) used to do it," he said.
"How should be our conduct, as a worker and a leader? We can all learn from him and we should do it. Because of the conduct shown by people like him, our country is today a winner in various spheres," he said.
Dattopant Bapurao Thengadi was a trade union leader and founder of the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh. He was born in Arvi village of Wardha district in Maharashtra.
