Earlier in March, the singers were ordered to pay USD 7.3 million to Marvin Gaye's family for copying parts of "Blurred Lines" from Gaye's 1977 hit "Got To Give It Up."
A California judge, however, denied their bid for retrial but reduced the amount to USD 5.3 million, reported Aceshowbiz.
Robin and Pharrell will now have to pay the amount to Gaye's family, who will also receive half of the song's future royalties.
The new ruling also stated that Rapper TI, who is credited as a writer on the 2013 song, should be held liable to pay damages although he did not commit copyright infringement.
