"I will not talk about any individual but whoever has made such (controversial) statements has been given appropriate message by the party... Such people have been given a strong message," the Minister of State for Minority Affairs told PTI.
He said BJP's stand is clear that the fabric of unity and harmony should not be disturbed at any cost and there should be no distraction from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's prime agenda of development.
Maharaj yesterday said Hindus consider cow as their mother, and used the analogy of a terrorist who attacks the country getting killed in the process.
At the same time, Naqvi criticised the language being used by leaders of Samajwadi Party, an apparent reference to Azam Khan, as also "some leader from Hyderabad", a reference to AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi.
"Politics over dead bodies should be condemned," he said.
