Three of the 11 accused in the case, identified as Venkatachalapathi, a native of Karnataka, Jaiprakash Reddy and Manjunath, both from AP, have been arrested, Chittoor Deputy Superintendent of Police Lakshmi Naidu told PTI.
"As per the investigations so far, the attack was carried out following financial and family disputes. We are inquiring other angles also," the DySP said, adding that efforts are on to nab Chintoo and other assailants.
A case was already registered on charges of murder and other relevant sections of IPC and under Arms Act against 11 accused including Chintoo.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had expressed grief and condemned the incident terming it "a very heinous act".
