Three held with 35 kg poppy in Jammu

Three persons were arrested today and 35 kg of poppy was seized from them on the outskirts of Jammu city, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, the police setup a check point at Kunjwani Chowk and intercepted a vehicle, a police official said.
After searching the vehicle, 35 kilograms of poppy was found from the possession of its driver and two other occupants, the official said, adding all of them were arrested.
A case has been registered in this connection at Gangyal police station and investigation is underway.
