Acting on a tip-off, a Special Operation Group of police maintained close vigil at sensitive areas like Jangleshwar and Kothariya Road and arrested the trio, police said.
According to police, accused Sanjay Patel was arrested in Kothariya Road area of the city this afternoon and a country-made pistol was recovered from him.
Other accused Ghanshyam Jadu and Jaydee Lavadiya were arrested from Jangleshwar area and two revolvers and 12 live cartridges were recovered from them, police said.
The arrested accused, who were earlier involved in thefts and land scams, told police they had kept weapons for self- protection.
"We suspect that the trio might have been involved in selling weapons illegally and investigation is on to nab the kingpin of the scam," Navalsinh Jadeja, who is investigating the matter said.
