Tiwari dons singer's hat, releases BJP's MCD campaign song

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari is literally on song in the MCD polls as the party's campaign song rendered by the Bhojpuri actor & singer-turned-politician was launched today.
Launching the party's campaign for the MCD polls, Tiwari said he spent last night at a studio in east Delhi and recorded the song overnight.
The campaign song, slogan and BJP poster for the MCD polls scheduled for April 23, were unveiled at a function attended by several party leaders, including national vice-president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe.
In the four-minute campaign song 'BJP Dil Mein, BJP Dilli Mein', Tiwari also hits out at the Kejriwal government, though without naming it, for making "false" promises to the people and alleged corruption of its ministers.

The song also includes catchwords and promises of the party like installation of LED and CCTV cameras, clean roads, water supply to each household, welfare of farmers, nationalism, and eradicating corruption, among others.
It also has a short-crisp line from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech "my government is dedicated to poor".

Party's campaign slogan "Naye Chehre, Nayi Urja, Nayi Udan; Dilli Mange Kamal Nishan" will be used widely as it promises "fresh faces" in three municipal corporations, party leaders say.
The BJP has decided not to give tickets to its sitting councilors in the wake of likely anti-incumbency of 10 years marked by financial crises, charges of corruption, sanitation workers' strikes and poor solid waste management in some parts of the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Tiwari said the party has refrained from indulging in "negativity" in its campaigning and has instead focused on improving lives of people and developing the city.
Sahasrabuddhe said the Modi government's schemes for the cities focus on developing social infrastructure, besides paying attention to building physical infrastructure.
"Wherever BJP is ruling in civic bodies, it is working on out-of-box methods such as cattle sanctuary established by the Lucknow municipal corporation, use of sewage for power generation in Nagpur and rapid bus transit system in Ahamadabad," he said.
He added the BJP is committed to improve the "quality of urban life" after winning MCD elections.
