TN Assembly condoles death of soldiers in JK avalanches

Tamil Nadu Assembly today condoled the death of soldiers in avalanches in Jammu and Kashmir on Jan 26.
Speaker P Dhanapal read an obituary reference over the deaths of soliders including two from Tamil Nadu, in Gurez sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
Expressing shock and conveying the grief and condolences over the demise of soliders, Dhanapal led the House in observing two minute silence as a mark of respect.
The state government has already announced a solatium of Rs 20 lakh each to the families of the two soldiers -- B Elavarasan and Sundrapandi of Thanjavur and Madurai districts respectively.

While 20 soldiers, including an officer, have died in avalanches in Kashmir over the past six days, five civilians were also killed in similar incidents in the valley.
