Amid the exit of senior leader G K Vasan and calls for more functional autonomy, TNCC functionaries led by its newly appointed chief E V K S Elangovan would have a brainstorming session with All India Congress Committee (AICC) leaders in Delhi tomorrow to chalk out a strategy for the party in the state.
Besides, the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee chief and all top state leaders are likely to call on party President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi, party sources said.
They will also meet Tamil Nadu in charge Mukul Wasnik, whose style of managing party affairs came under attack from Vasan.
Asked if it was true that the TNCC leaders will be in Delhi tomorrow, Elangovan told PTI "It is true."
However, he declined to elaborate further.
Sources indicated that a "workable plan" has been readied for submission to the high command.
"An important aspect is on the revamp of party apparatus at the State level, the chain of command and steps for bringing a much needed morale booster," a senior leader said declining to be named.
Earlier in the day, Karti Chidambaram, son of former Union Minister P Chidambaram, disapproved of the role of high command's observers in managing affairs of the states.
"Thought should be given to the present managerial structure in regard to the high command's observers. Managing party affairs in states and changes that are necessary should be made," Karti, an AICC member, told PTI.
Vasan and his supporters quit the Congress on November 3 with the former Shipping Minister announcing that he would be soon launching a political party to "realise the goals of Congress party in his own path of victory.
