TN Guv asks more students to join NCC

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit today asked the state chiefs of National Cadet Corps to propagate the message of NCC among the schools and colleges so that more students join it.
He said only 13 lakh students were in the NCC in the country, which was a small number in comparison to the population of 120 crore.
He was addressing the cadets during the NCC Meet at Raj Bhavan, an official release said.
Later, the NCC cadets were taken for a visit in the offshore patrol vessel 'Shaurya', commemorating the 42 Raising Day of Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard ship 'Shourya' equipped with advanced communication systems, integrated machinery control systems was commissioned by Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan in August 2017.
On-board the ship, the cadets were explained on the roles and responsibility of Coast Guard and importance of coastal security, an official release said.
