TN to come out with single window system for issue of building

Tamil Nadu would come out with a single window system facility in which approval for issuing of planning permissions for builders can be released within 45 days, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said here today.
The government has taken steps in simplifying the process of granting planning permissions to make it hassle-free, Panneerselvam said here.
He was making those comments after the three-day property expo 'FAIRPRO 2018", was formally inaugurated Chief Minister K Palaniswami.
Planning permissions and building permits will be issued through a single window system and the application for would be made through online, he said.
Panneerselvam said the scrutiny of applications will be done through tailor-made software and planning permissions will be issued within 45 days.
Chief Minister Palaniswami said steps are being taken to develop the tailor-made software in joint collaboration with IIT Madras.
The Chief Minister also assured that the requests made by the realtors will be addressed.
Earlier, The Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India, Chennai President, Suresh Krishn requested the Government to come with a single window clearance facility to issue planning permission and also requested the government to reduce the documentation charges from four per cent to one per cent.
On the other intiatives taken by the government, Panneerselvam said, the preparatory works have been taken up for expanding the Chennai Metropolitan Area from the existing 1,189 square kilometre to 8,878 square kilometres.
"The existing delimitation was formulated about 40 years ago. With the increase in population, job creation due to industrial growth, urbanisation is also happening outside the areas of city", he said.
Due to expansion of Chennai metropolitan area, congestion in city will come down drastically, he said.
