The Directors General (DGs) and Chief Commissioners of Income Tax will get together on June 11 and 12 for their annual conference to deal with various challenges faced by the I-T department and the direct tax revenue collection set up, officials said today.

This will be the 28th edition of the conference.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is expected to inaugurate the session on June 11 while senior officials of the Finance Ministry and those belonging to economic enforcement agencies under the Revenue department will participate in the event.

Some important policy decisions related to cadre restructuring of the I-T department and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) are also expected to be announced during the conference, the officials said.
