The collision took place between Kantadih and Tamna stations in Adra division and led to the derailment of the engine and 11 bogies of the train, South Eastern Railway sources said.
The derailment led to the blocking of the up and down lines of this section affecting normal train services, the sources said.
The loaded truck broke the locked gate boom at the level crossing and collided with the train this morning, the SER sources said.
No long distance mail or express train was cancelled owing to the disruption, the SER sources said adding long distance trains scheduled to run via Purulia-Chandil route were diverted to the alternate route of Purulia-Kotsila-Muri-Chandil.
However, some short distance intercity express trains have been cancelled along with some other passenger trains, while few trains were short terminated at various stations, the sources said.
