Police said one Ajay Rout (36) of nearby Shankarpur area was shot at by three unidentified persons last evening when the bus owner was returning home on his motorcycle.
A bleeding Rout succumbed to two gunshot injuries on his head and face while being rushed to hospital, police said.
Police suspect that rivalry relating to transport business could be the cause of yesterday's firing but are yet to get any clues about the attackers even as a massive manhunt has been launched by a special squad of the city police.
