Travel agent booked for duping man of Rs 2.75 lakh

A travel agent has been booked for allegedly duping a man of Rs 2.75 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad, police said today.
A complaint was lodged by Hardip Singh of Phagwara who alleged that Chetan Kumar, a travel agent of Jalandhar, had taken the money for sending him to Italy, they added.
The complainant alleged that Kumar neither sent him to Italy nor returned the amount.
Police registered a case against Kumar under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the IPC.
