A tribal was arrested today for allegedly electrocuting two spotted deer at Nandikheda village near here, a forest official said.
Based on a tip-off, a forest department squad reached the farm of Bhilu Gond (45) and recovered two dead deer he had hidden after poaching them with the help of an electric snare late last night, Betul Forest Ranger Office V S Parihar said.
Bhilu has been booked under relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, he said.
He said that bodies of deer have been disposed off after post-mortem.
