A 40-year-old woman was allegedly raped in a jungle in Birbhum district, police said today.
The incident happened under the jurisdiction Mohammad Bazar police station area yesterday when the woman had gone to the forest to collect dry leaves, the police said.
She was found in the forest in an unconscious state today, a police officer said, adding, she was later admitted to Suri hospital.
The tribal woman and her family lodged a complaint of rape with the police, the officer said.
"Three persons were arrested on the basis of the compliant," a senior police officer said.
The arrested were produced at Suri court and were remanded to three days police custody, he said.
