Tributes were today paid to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in functions held across Punjab and Haryana marking her 31st death anniversary.
The former Prime Minister was fondly remembered at functions organised by the district units of the Congress party in the two states, including Union Territory Chandigarh.
Presidents of the Congress' Punjab and Haryana units, Pratap Singh Bajwa and Ashok Tanwar, were among those who paid tributes to Gandhi.
The Youth Congress and Mahila Congress units of the two states also organised functions to mark the death anniversary of Gandhi, who was assassinated by her bodyguards on October 31, 1984.
