A Trinamool Congress activist was shot dead and his uncle injured allegedly by motorcycle-borne men in West Bengal's Burdhman district today.
The 27-year-old activist, Kasim Khaji, was returning on a motorcycle with his uncle when he was shot from close range at Mongol Nawpara under Bhatar police station, police said.
His uncle was shifted to the Burdhman hospital in a serious condition, police said.
Inner party clash could be the motive behind the murder, police said, adding that search is on to nab the culprits.
