Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump today highlighed America's trade deficit with countries like China and India and promised that the US under his presidency would start "winning at trade again".
"We don't win. We don't win at trade, China, everybody, Japan, Mexico, Vietnam, India, name the country. Anybody we do business with beats us. We don't win at trade," Trump told his cheering supporters in Palm Beach Florida, the State where he scored a massive win against State Senator, Marco Rubio, grabbing all the 99 Republican delegates at stake.
"We're going to win at trade. We're going to make our country rich again. We're going to make our country great again. And we need the rich in order to make the great, I'm sorry to tell you," Trump said.
Trump today won the Republican primary in North Carolina and Illinoi while lost to the Ohio Governor John Kasich in the State.
Trump now leads the delegate counts with 621 delegates, followed by Ted Cruz (396), Rubio (168) and Kasich (138). Rubio has already dropped out of the race.
To win party's presidential nomination, the candidate needs 1,237 delegates.
People of the country, he said, want to see the country properly run.
"They want to see borders. They want to see good healthcare. They want to see things properly taken care of. They want our military rebuilt. Our military is in a very bad state. They want it rebuilt," he added.
Trump said under him the United States would make best trade deals.
"We're going to make the best trade deals you've ever seen. We've got such endorsements from Carl Icahn and the smartest people in business. And these people are going to be negotiating our deals and they're they best in the world," he said.
