The players take the help of physio and trainer based at National Institute of Sports, Patiala, whenever they are training there but sorely miss full-time experts while playing overseas.
"Last week we were playing in Japan and we had to take help of physios from other countries. If we get access to physios and mind trainers all the time, I think it is bound to help us perform better," a top player of the Indian men's team told PTI.
Table Tennis will be one of the 13 disciplines in which India participate at the Glasgow Games starting July 23. The sport fetched five medals including a gold at the 2010 edition in New Delhi.
Sports Authority of India (SAI) recently interviewed candidates for the two roles and has managed to hire men for some of the Commonwealth disciplines.
Dhanraj Choudhary, secretary general at the Table Tennis Federation of India, said the federation will soon submit a list to SAI stating their requirements for the CWG as well as the Asian Games.
