TTE did not push woman passenger, says railways

Railways today came out in defence of its Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) who was accused of pushing a woman passenger in Jalgaon leading to her death, saying CCTV footage indicates that the woman slipped while boarding.
"CCTV footage indicates that the conductor was helping her. Unfortunately, she fell down and was run over by the train," railways said in a statement here.
"The allegation that the TTE was drunk is wrong as breath analysis test conducted on him was negative. It is also seen from the CCTV footage that the lady passenger had sufficient time to board the train," it said.

"The nephew of the lady alleged that on duty conductor (SG Salunke) of the train pushed the lady and she fell and got run over by the train which is not correct," it said.
Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Rajendranagar Express arrived Jalgaon on May 29 at 5.47 AM. "After the train started for its onward journey, a lady passenger (Ujwala Nilesh Pandey, 35) tried to board the running train in A-1 Coach along with two daughters. They were having unreserved second class ticket. The nephew of the lady having platform ticket came to leave her.
"The two daughters boarded the running train and when the woman tried to board it she fell and got run over," release said

Railways have also appealed to the passengers not to board or alight the running train.
