Two persons have been arrested in east Delhi's Shakarpur area for allegedly being involved in betting in the just-concluded IPL final match, police said today.
During a raid at a suspected house it was found that one of the accused was attending phone calls and the other was writing betting rates for the cricket match, that took place yesterday, in the diary, a police official said.
The two accused have been identified as Sunil (44), a native of Rohtak in Haryana and Parvej (38) of Shamli in Uttar Pradesh, the official said.
As many as 77 mobile phones, calculator, diaries, a speaker and microphone system were seized from them, the police said.
It seems to be a part of a huge network of bookies and betters. Further investigation is on to identify and catch hold of people in the upward and downward links in the network, they said.
